The Eagle was the Lunar Module used during NASA's Apollo 11 mission. It was the spacecraft that transported astronauts Neil Armstrong and Edwin "Buzz" Aldrin from the Command Module in lunar orbit to the surface of the Moon and back again. Armstrong famously became the first human to set foot on the Moon, followed by Aldrin. After spending several hours conducting experiments, collecting samples, and taking photographs, they returned to the ascent stage of the Eagle and launched back into lunar orbit to rendezvous with the Command Module, piloted by Michael Collins.
